Afua Asantewaa, aiming to set a Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon by an individual, received support from NSMQ Mistress Elsie Effah Kaufmann at Akwaaba Village.
Asantewaa’s quest involves a three-day singing marathon, exclusively dedicated to Ghanaian songs, with a target of 110 hours.
The event aims to promote various Ghanaian music genres, including gospel, highlife, and hiplife.
Asantewaa emphasized the importance of showcasing the rich diversity of Ghanaian music during the December Sing A-thon.
“This attempt is strictly for Ghanaian songs. We are doing this to promote Ghanaian songs. From gospel, highlife, hiplife, and so on. And we are doing this in December, so for those who do not understand what Sing A-thon is, it is simply a singing marathon,” she said.
Sunil Waghmare, an Indian, currently holds the record for the longest singing marathon, achieving 105 hours in 2012.
