Back in the 90s and early 2000s was when Obrafour and Lord Kenya controlled the rap scene of Ghana music, with the two being at loggerheads with each other.

Over the years, many has wondered why the two of the very best were musical rivals rather than the opposite.

Well, Rap Sofo Obrafour has finally talked about his ‘beef’ with Lord Kenya, revealing what actually caused and fueled the feud between them, OccupyGh.com reports.

For over two decades, not Obrafour or Lord Kenya has mentioned anywhere to why they both enjoyed riding on the fame of beef to make music for the masses.

Talking to Amansan Krakye on Radio Central, Obrafour said that the whole beef started after he acclaimed himself as ‘the best rapper’ in a song he made in his come up.

“I was the first musician ever to say I was the Rap Heavy Weight Champion in a song. Any time Lord Kenya dropped his album, people rushed to buy just to hear if he had thrown shots at me and it was the same when I also dropped an album.” Obrafour said

According to Obrafour, himself and Lord Kenya understood the beauty of the game, and decided to ride on the beef line to stay relevant.

“We were mature and open-minded about it and we realized it will inure to our benefit because during that time we understood the benefits and we played along,” Obrafour told Amansan Krakye.
