So far, Ghana has recorded a total of 21 Coronavirus cases with one person dying as a result of the virus.
This was announced by the president of Ghana in his third nation address to speak about the measures the government has taken so far to curb the outbreak of the pandemic.
The patient was reported to be a male who 61 years old allegedly identified as Tarek Minkara and a resident of Kumasi.
Per a report by Ghanaweb, he was a spare parts dealer and also a very popular figure in Kumasi and he reportedly left behind a kid and a wife.
His death was made known by Deputy Health Minister, Alex Abban in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM.
During the interview, he said;
“The information I got from the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service is that that person [the Lebanese man] has died. He died today.”
However, his family has rejected the claim that he was killed by Coronavirus with a source close to the family stating that reports that he died of the deadly virus are false and should be disregarded.
The same source revealed that he had been battling illness for the past three months and could not have died of the virus.
