<p><strong>Police Officer Drowns While Taking a Bath in River</strong></p>



<p>A police officer tragically met his death on Wednesday, August 5, after drowning in a River Awach, Homa Bay County where he had gone to take a bath.</p>



<p>The officer was attached to Kosele Police Post in Rachuonyo South Sub County and had gone to refresh himself at around 1 p.m.</p>



<p>He was identified as Constable Godfrey Odhiambo Juma and was in the company of several other police officers.</p>

<p class="has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color">Speaking to Kenyans.co<a href="https://occupygh.com/police-officer-drowns-while-taking-a-bath-in-river">.</a>ke, nominated MCA Nereah Amondi confirmed the incident and claimed that the police officer was drunk.</p>



<p>&#8220;The incident is indeed true, I am told that he was drunk when he had gone for the bath in the company of other officers,&#8221; she noted.</p>



<p>The winner of the TV series, Ms. President also cleared the air on reports that the police officer had gone for a swim reiterating that he had gone for a bath.</p>



<p>Investigations have since been launched into the death of the 30-year-old police officer to establish the true cause of his demise.</p>



<p class="has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color">Reports indicate that after the bath he sought to swim with his colleagues but could not rescue himself while his attempts to stay afloat proved futile<a href="https://occupygh.com/police-officer-drowns-while-taking-a-bath-in-river">.</a> River Awach is a few kilometers away from police posts and has been used as a source of water by residents and police officers attached to the station.</p>



<p>The area has constantly suffered from a water shortage that has led to over-dependence on the river.</p>



<p>The number of people drowning in rivers has been on the rise as a woman taking photos with her brother at Thompson Falls, Nyahururu County, slipped and fell in the river on Monday, July 27.</p>
