
<p>On September 6, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Mbombela, South Africa, where a 36-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly shot and killed in plain sight by her boyfriend.</p>



<p>The horrible occurrence reportedly happened as the woman was getting out of a taxi on Samora Machel Street close to Buscor&#8217;s bus terminals.</p>



<p>The suspect pulled up in front of the victim in a bakkie after leaving a nearby gas station.</p>



<p>He allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the woman in the right leg, forcing her to fall, according to witnesses. He allegedly then shot her twice in the head before running away in the direction of Valencia.</p>



<p>Witnesses immediately called the police and ambulances for help. Sadly, when Emer-G-Med personnel arrived, they regrettably had to pronounce the woman dead there.</p>



<p>Colonel Donald Mdhluli, a police spokesman, confirmed the occurrence and reported it as a murder case to the Nelspruit Police Station.</p>



<p>The incident happened at roughly 5:20 AM in the Mbombela CBD, next to a bus terminal, in full view of commuters. The woman, who had injuries to her upper body, was said to have been shot dead in a drive-by shooting from a white Isuzu Light Delivery Vehicle bakkie.</p>



<p>Police and emergency workers are pleading with anyone with knowledge regarding the suspect&#8217;s whereabouts to get in touch with Detective Colonel Thamsanqa Mkhaliphi as the inquiry progresses.</p>

<p>There haven&#8217;t been any recent arrests, but the police investigation is still ongoing. Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, the Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, sharply denounced the incident and vowed that the police will persistently pursue the culprit and see to it that justice was done.</p>



<p>Another witness claimed that the victim&#8217;s mother disclosed that her daughter had previously reported the suspect for assault.</p>



<p>According to the reports, the mother pleaded with her daughter to come home because she was still being abused. This reportedly sparked a quarrel, presumably over lobola since the suspect had already paid it.</p>
