In yesterday’s game against Sparta Rotterdam, Ghanaian international footballer Mohammed Kudus scored the 84th-minute goal.
In honor and tribute to Christian Atsu, Kudus took off his shirt to show an inner shirt he had on that read: “RIP Atsu”.
Mohammed Kudus was supposed to receive a yellow card for his tribute to Christian Atsu but referee Pol Van Boekel opted not to book him.
This is what the referee told Kudus after he removed his shirt as Tribute To Atsu:
“The referee told me it’s not allowed [shirt removal] but he understands because this is a bigger situation than football.”
