The church is now a business – the Church Of Pentecost, Kasoa branch is crying after a tithe budget of ¢2,780,537 was accrued instead of 3,188,529.
And although the Downtown Ofaakor diocese in Kasoa has acknowledged that the Russia-Ukraine war and the hardship in the country are affecting its members, they are demanding that its members meet the annual budget deficit.

The Church of Pentecost has joined the ruling governments and some sections of Ghanaians to have attributed the economic woes to the Russia-Ukraine war and the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Church, the ongoing war and the deadly disease have drastically affected its tithe collection.
The Church of Pentecost made this admission in a letter, signed by the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, in a report to its Assemblies in the Down Town Ofaakor Area in the Central Region.
The letter noted that they did not meet the target for the first half of the year.
Out of a target of GHC 3,188,529 which was set for the area during the first half of 2022, an amount of GHC 2,780,527 was accumulated.
This means the church has failed to acquire a ‘variance of GHC407,992 representing 12.80%’ through its tithe collection.
“According to the tithes and offering analysis from the Finance Department at the Headquarters, it emerged that Down Town Ofaakor Area, for the first part of the year (January to June 2022) was unable to meet its budget,” it said in the letter cited by Mondokayonline.com
Many in their view could have thought the church should have prayed for a manner to fall, but it is somewhat encouraging members of the church to achieve their annual budget.
“We are aware of the global effect of the war in Ukraine and the hardship that COVID-19 still imposes on our members.
“But, the above notwithstanding, let us continue to work hard to achieve our annual budget as we also pray with you,” the Church of Pentecost prayed.
