A campaign pickup and sound system belonging to Sammi Awuku, NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Akuapim North and Director General of the National Lottery Authority, were completely destroyed by fire on the Koforidua Road yesterday.
This marks the second such incident involving an NPP campaign vehicle within a week, leaving many bewildered.
A viral video of the burning vehicle has triggered intense reactions online, with some interpreting the incident as a spiritual message.
Netizens like @TesanoCnn have drawn parallels with past symbolic events, claiming, “God is communicating.” Others, such as @Nanaezze, have attributed the fires to technical negligence, urging campaign teams to employ qualified personnel for vehicle setups.
Critics have also raised concerns about the safety standards of campaign logistics amidst such recurring events.
Sammi Awuku and his team have not yet issued an official statement, but the incidents are fueling political and public discourse ahead of the 2024 elections.
As the election season heats up, many Ghanaians are keeping a close eye on how political parties manage their resources and ensure safety.
