
<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Dela, a communicator for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has sparked public outrage following derogatory comments about former President John Agyekum Kufour&#8217;s disability.</strong></p>



<p>Speaking on Accra-based TV XYZ, Dela criticized President Kufour for endorsing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, expressing his displeasure in remarks deemed offensive and disrespectful toward persons living with disabilities.</p>



<p>&#8220;Let me say something to President Kufour. He should be careful. I expect him to stay in his lane and enjoy his retirement with the riches he had from being president. He is in a wheelchair as payment for his sins as president,&#8221; Dela stated.</p>

<p>Despite being prompted to retract his comments during the show, Dela stood by his remarks, claiming there was nothing wrong with referencing the former president&#8217;s use of a wheelchair.</p>



<p>The remarks have been widely condemned by the public and disability advocacy groups, who view them as an attack on the dignity of individuals with disabilities. </p>



<p>Many have called on the NDC to address the incident and ensure respect for all, irrespective of physical condition or political differences.</p>
