A Swaziland King, Mswati III of eSwatini has without mincing words stated that men in his Kingdom are required to marry two or more wives by June 2019 or be jailed if they fail to do so.
The king, who has 15 wives and 25 children, and his father and predecessor having more than 70 wives and 150+ children revealed that eSwatini is facing a very serious problem as there are more women than men in his country – husband scarcity.
Hence, men from the country are expected to marry more than 2 wives in order for every woman to get a husband.
Swaziland is noted to be full of virgins with women dominating the country’s population.
King Mswati in order to curb the dominance of women in the country has instructed all men in the country to marry at least 5 wives and the government will pay for their marriage ceremonies and buy houses for them.
The King of Swaziland warned that any man or woman who opposes his decision will face a life sentence.
