One of the grieving mothers of the young girls who lost their lives in the East Legon tragic accident was inconsolable during the all-white candlelight vigil held on Friday, October 18, 2024, in memory of their daughters.
Maame Dwomoh Boateng and Justine Agbenu, both 12-year-olds tragically lost their lives in a fatal car accident on October 12, when a Jaguar driven by 16-year-old Elrad Salifu Amoako collided with their vehicle in East Legon.
The vigil, attended by heartbroken families and community members, served as a somber remembrance for the two girls who died instantly at the scene. The emotional event has drawn widespread sympathy, as many continue to mourn the lives cut short.
Elrad, who survived the crash, is the son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, a prominent figure in Ghana.
His parents, including Prophet Amoako and his wife, were recently granted bail following their arrest for permitting an underage driver behind the wheel.
As investigations continue, the prophet’s public apology has stirred further dialogue across the country.
