
<p class="has-medium-font-size">A 19-year-old teenage boy, Hillary Yunana, a student, had been sentenced to four months imprisonment for stealing spaghetti, noodles, and cash from a local shop.</p>



<p>The 19-year-old student, a resident of Bassa village, along airport road, Abuja, was charged with burglary and theft.</p>

<p>In his ruling on Thursday, March 17, the Judge, Sani Umar, sentenced Yunana after he pleaded guilty to the offense and begged the court for leniency.</p>



<p>Umar, however, gave the convict an option to pay N10, 000 for each of the offenses, or serve a jail term of two months each for the offenses.</p>



<p>He said that the sentence would run concurrently and warned him to desist from committing crime in the future.</p>



<p>The judge said the sentence would serve as deterrence to anyone who wants to tow that depraved path in the future.</p>



<p>Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Abudulahi Tanko, told the court the convict had broken and entered the shop of Gift Ugochukwu, of the same address on March 4.</p>



<p>Tanko said that the convict had stolen seven pieces of spaghetti, five pieces of noodles and a cash sum of N10,000, all valued at N13,000, an offence that contravened the provisions of Sections 346 and 287 of the Penal Code.</p>
