Ghanaian rapper, music producer Ball J has revealed why Ghana’s own Azonto genre died before it took it form in the music industry.
Speaking on Plus FM, Ball J asserted that the formed genre ‘Alkayida’ literally killed ‘Azonto’.
“Look, I tell everyone who I produced Azonto tune for to call it same and not renamed it ‘Alkayida’. They started calling it ‘Alkayida’ and it killed the genre…”
Ball J was prominent during the era of Azonto in the country, played a vital role in making the genre an accepted one across the globe.
Ball J produced hit Azonto songs for hit makers like Guru, Sarkodie, Kwaw Kese, and himself.
