Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has appealed to Ghanaians to be patient with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government as it works to address the current economic difficulties.
Speaking during a meeting with the clergy in the Central Region as part of his campaign tour, Dr. Bawumia acknowledged the global nature of the cost of living crisis, citing his recent experience in Canada.
“It’s a global problem, not unique to Ghana,” he emphasized. “Global inflation has increased fivefold, and we’re working hard to alleviate the difficulties faced by Ghanaians.”
Dr. Bawumia also announced plans to modernize the Kotoka International Airport with the installation of electronic gates by December 2024. These e-gates will facilitate seamless entry for Ghanaians, eliminating the need for immigration checks upon arrival.
Furthermore, Dr. Bawumia expressed his desire to engage in an open discussion with religious and faith-based organizations regarding school management, with a focus on discipline. He seeks to collaborate on finding solutions to improve education in Ghana.
The Vice President’s assurances come as the government works to address the economic challenges facing the country. Despite the global nature of the crisis, Dr. Bawumia remains committed to finding solutions to alleviate the difficulties faced by Ghanaians.
