Thomas Amoani: From Humble Beginnings in Asuaba To First Class Honors In UK

Thomas Kwame Amoani’s inspiring journey from a small town in Ghana to academic excellence in London has captured hearts worldwide.

In 2020, the then 19-year-old from Asuaba gained attention for achieving straight A’s in his West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), despite facing significant challenges.

During his high school years at Adeiso Presby SHS, Thomas walked an astounding 12km daily to attend classes, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to education.

His remarkable story and academic prowess caught the eye of the Ghanaian government, which awarded him a full scholarship to study at Brunel University London.

Thomas’s dedication continued to shine at university, where he emerged as the Overall Best Economics Student in 2022.

Now, four years after his initial viral moment, Thomas has graduated from Brunel University with First Class Honors, receiving a prize in Economics and Finance.
