Mothers of 'Yahoo Boys' Are Forming An Association - Nigerian Authorities

Nigerian authorities have disclosed that mothers of internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo Boys’ are now forming an association to help their children when they are arrested.

According to Ibrahim Magu, who is the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Nigeria, there is a new association made up of mostly mothers of ‘Yahoo Boys’.

Ibrahim Magu made this assertion at an EFCC stakeholders conference that was held in Lagos. He revealed that upon interrogation with some members of the association, he discovered that money from internet fraud from their children are used to fend for their families.

According to Ibrahim Magu, EFCC in Lagos has made over 300 cybercrime arrest since January.

“Those found guilty of cybercrime will undergo a rehabilitation process after serving their terms” Ibrahim Magu said.
