16-Year-Old Girl Burns Mother with Hot Water and Garden Eggs in Kumasi, Victim Declines to Press Charges

A shocking incident of domestic violence occurred in Kumasi Kronum-Afrancho, where a 14-year-old girl severely injured her mother by pouring hot water and boiled garden eggs on her.

The altercation began when the mother, concerned for the safety of her younger child, tapped her daughter on the back to caution her while she was handling the hot food.

Reacting with unexpected anger, the teenager turned and deliberately poured the scalding contents onto her mother’s face and chest, causing severe burns.

The incident, reported by EDHUB, has raised concerns about youth violence and family dynamics in the community. Despite the severity of her injuries, the mother has chosen not to report the matter to the police, opting instead to handle the situation within the family.

This decision has sparked discussions about the appropriate response to such incidents and the need for support systems to address underlying issues that may lead to such violent outbursts in young people.
