The death of Georgina Agyeman, an apprentice who was 18 years old, has shocked the community of Anwiankwanta in the Bekwai Municipal region of the Ashanti Region. Her death is thought to have been the consequence of a vicious gang rape.
Reports state that the young woman unfortunately perished during the terrifying experience of the purported rape.
Her deceased body was found in an upsetting state, with her buttocks facing the sky, her trousers used to strangle her neck and her jeans partially gone.
Bloodstains were disturbingly discovered on her vagina and the floor of the unfinished building in the Anwiankwanta neighbourhood of Abenkyim where this horrible crime occurred.
When Georgina Agyeman finished her work on a Friday night, she was unable to go home.
Concerned family members and neighbourhood people started looking for her, and on a Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m., her lifeless body was tragically found.
Many people have expressed concerns about the safety of women in the neighbourhood, especially after sunset, as a result of this horrifying incident, which has left the neighbourhood in a condition of stress and terror.
The victim’s body was brought to the Bekwai Municipal Government Hospital after the tragedy for a forensic autopsy.
No arrests have been made as of yet in relation to this terrible occurrence, leaving the neighbourhood in mourning and fear.
