In a remarkable display of dedication and patriotism, 65-year-old Tamale-based businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Ayaana, has embarked on an extraordinary journey.

He is walking over 250 kilometers from Kumasi to Accra to attend President-elect John Mahama’s swearing-in ceremony on January 7, 2025 ¹.

Alhaji Ayaana’s journey began after he traveled to Kumasi by vehicle, and then set off on foot to cover the remaining distance to Accra.

This remarkable feat is a testament to his commitment to honoring President-elect Mahama’s decisive win in the 2024 presidential election.

This is not Alhaji Ayaana’s first notable journey. In 1997, he walked to celebrate former President Jerry John Rawlings’ second-term inauguration.

He also organized a 16-kilometer peace and health walk in Tamale on Independence Day in 1999 to promote national unity and public health

Alhaji Ayaana’s latest initiative is not only a gesture of goodwill but also a call to action. He hopes that President-elect Mahama will fulfill his campaign promises, particularly reducing the cost of Hajj for Ghanaian Muslims.
