Ghanaian actor and New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, Prince David Osei, has found himself at the center of controversy after a post on his social media page labeled President-elect John Dramani Mahama a “drunkard.”
However, in a recent interview with Andy Dosty on Accra-based Hitz FM, Prince David Osei denied making the insulting comment.
According to Osei, although the post came from his page, he had no knowledge of it and did not write it.
He explained that after congratulating the president-elect, he received an overwhelming amount of trolls, which prompted him to leave his phone and take a nap.
During this time, his cousin, who was angered by the negative comments, took to Osei’s phone and responded angrily, posting the insult about Mahama.

Osei’s denial comes after he faced massive backlash for the comment, with many calling for him to apologize.
The actor’s explanation has done little to quell the controversy, with many questioning why he allowed someone else to access his social media account.
