Afua Asantewaa, who recently embarked on a second attempt at setting a Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon, has opened up about the challenges that led to her initial setback.
In a recent interview on Kafui Dey TV, monitored by occupygh.com, she shared insights into her first attempt’s failure and the obstacles she faced.
According to Asantewaa, one of the key factors behind her initial defeat was copyright issues involving Ghanaian musicians. She explained that her use of songs by local artists resulted in copyright conflicts, as several musicians had not waived copyright claims on their works.
This, she stated, was a significant hindrance identified by Guinness World Records officials, ultimately impacting her ability to meet the requirements.
Despite these setbacks, Asantewaa remains determined to achieve her goal. She is currently in discussions with Ghanaian artists, hoping to resolve the copyright issues and gain permission to use their music freely in her future record-breaking attempts.
