Renowned Ghanaian actor and musician, Papa Kumasi, has lifted the lid on a deep-seated feud within the Kumawood film industry, specifically involving legendary actor Agya Koo.
In a recent interview, Papa Kumasi attributed the dwindling fortunes of the Kumawood movie industry to rampant hatred and discord among actors, directors, producers, and actresses. He cited his own experience with Agya Koo as a prime example.
According to Papa Kumasi, Agya Koo’s dislike for him stems from his association with fellow actor Kwaku Manu, with whom Agya Koo has had a longstanding issue. This tension has led Agya Koo to reject movie roles if Kwaku Manu is involved.
Papa Kumasi revealed that Agya Koo’s hostility towards him is evident in their interactions. “When I greet Agya Koo, he won’t respond. If I offer a handshake, he’ll withdraw his hand,” he said.
The actor and media personality attributed their strained relationship to his affiliation with Kwaku Manu’s camp.

“Agya Koo refuses to shoot scenes in movies featuring Kwaku Manu and others. These petty squabbles contribute to the industry’s decline,” Papa Kumasi lamented.
