Ghanaian actor and New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporter Prince David Osei has sparked controversy by questioning former President John Dramani Mahama’s chances of returning to power.
Despite endorsements from prominent pastors, the actor believes Mahama’s time in office is over.
He comments came in response to accusations against the NPP, particularly those linking the party to illegal mining (galamsey).
He emphasized that illegal mining is a widespread issue involving members of both the NPP and National Democratic Congress (NDC), as well as influential individuals and religious leaders.

“Even if every pastor in this country prayed and anointed Mahama, he wouldn’t win,” Prince David Osei stated, highlighting that the accusations against the NPP won’t sway voters. He stressed that both parties are implicated in the illegal mining issue.
This development comes as Mahama campaigns for the 2024 presidential election, promising to make history by electing Ghana’s first female vice president. However, Osei’s remarks may dent Mahama’s chances, citing the NDC’s track record of economic mismanagement and corruption.
