
<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer and former President John Dramani Mahama has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, accusing him of sidelining certain communities based on their political alignment. </strong></p>



<p>Mahama voiced his concerns in a Facebook post after touring 14 constituencies in the Central Region, where he observed local development challenges and engaged with community leaders.</p>



<p>According to Mahama, communities that do not align politically with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been neglected, with vital infrastructure, healthcare, and education projects overlooked for &#8220;petty partisan political reasons.&#8221; He described the effects of this neglect as damaging to residents’ welfare and prospects.</p>

<p>“After visiting fourteen constituencies in the Central Region, I join the chiefs and people in condemning the neglect of our communities for partisan reasons,” Mahama stated. “It pains me to see our cherished communities struggling due to the neglect of crucial development projects that are vital to their growth.”</p>



<p>Mahama condemned this approach, calling it inconsistent with democratic principles. “How does a government ignore the needs of the people it governs, seemingly punishing communities for exercising their democratic rights to support the NDC?” he questioned.</p>



<p>He insisted that governance should be inclusive, prioritizing the welfare of all citizens regardless of political choices. “Every Ghanaian has the right to benefit from government programs and initiatives, no matter their political allegiance,” Mahama added.</p>



<p>The former president also promised that an NDC-led government would ensure equitable development across all regions. “As I have done before when I was president, development will be a right for all, not a privilege for a few. The NDC administration of John Mahama and Naana Jane will prioritize the progress of our communities and ensure no community is left behind,” he pledged.</p>
