Kumawood actor Big Akwes has added his voice to the ongoing debate on social media, highlighting how the New Patriotic Party (NPP), despite enjoying strong support in the Ashanti region, has reportedly overlooked the region’s development needs.
In a recent self-recorded video, Big Akwes shared his surprise after visiting Kyebi, President Akufo-Addo’s hometown in the Eastern Region.
He expressed amazement at the transformation he witnessed, noting that all the roads were newly asphalted and that the town even had free WiFi for residents.
Big Akwes urged his fellow Ashantis to reconsider their support for the NPP, suggesting that Akufo-Addo appears more focused on developing his hometown than addressing issues in the Ashanti region.
He predicted that, unlike previous elections where the NPP enjoyed strong backing from the Ashanti region, this year Ashantis might vote decisively against the NPP and its candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
