In a sharp critique of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO, John Mahama made a pointed analogy, comparing arrogance to pregnancy—something that inevitably becomes impossible to hide.
Mahama’s remark was in response to a recent controversy where NAPO, the newly announced running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), made a verbal blunder during an NPP women’s conference.
While acknowledging Ghana’s past presidents, NAPO stumbled over the name of the late President Prof. John Evans Atta-Mills, awkwardly referring to him as “the one who died.”
This misstep, captured on video and widely circulated online, has ignited debates about political decorum and the importance of showing respect to former leaders.
Mahama’s metaphorical jab highlights what he perceives as NAPO’s underlying arrogance, which, like pregnancy, becomes undeniable over time.
