Residents of the farming village are in a state of shock and bewilderment following the death of a teacher in his early 30s at Dumasua in the Sunyani West Municipality.
According to information obtained
The deceased, Samuel Benneh, a teacher at Wamfie, allegedly hanged himself on September 24, 2023, at 16:30 in a cashew orchard close to the town.
Some of the locals informed th that they were astonished by the incident and questioned how a young, resourceful teacher could take his life in such a violent way during a visit to the town.
The body was found hanging from a tree, bound with a rope, according to Mr. Emmanuel Gyamfi, the Assemblyman for the Dumasua Electoral Area. The police afterwards left the body to the Sunyani Regional Hospital Mortuary for preservation and an autopsy.
Mr. Gyamfi claimed in an interview that he was made aware of the occurrence by some locals and that he then reported it to the Dumasua Police so that appropriate action could be taken.
The police have reportedly started looking into the event, according to a police source who confirmed the report the in Dumasua.
