Veteran Ghanaian actor and staunch New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporter, Inchankota, has shared a surprising revelation about the Ghana Card, highlighting its significance in international travel.
In an interview with Nana Baffour, Inchankota recounted how the Ghana Card proved invaluable during a recent trip abroad with fellow actor and brother, Agya Koo. According to him, the card streamlined their travel process, allowing them to journey without the need for additional identification documents.
“I was amazed at how seamless the process was,” Inchankota stated. “We used only the Ghana Card for our travel, and it was accepted without any issues. It’s clear that the government’s investment in this initiative is paying off.”
The actor’s remarks come in the wake of controversial comments by popular cleric, Opambour, who ridiculed the Ghana Card after meeting former President John Mahama in Kumasi.
Opambour had questioned the card’s relevance, sparking debates about its utility.
Inchankota, however, firmly defended the NPP government’s introduction of the card, emphasizing its role in modernizing systems and making life easier for Ghanaians.
The Ghana Card, introduced under the NPP administration, has faced mixed reactions since its rollout, with critics questioning its practicality and cost. Despite this, supporters like Inchankota argue that it represents a significant step toward national development.
His testimony has reignited discussions about the card’s benefits, particularly its potential to simplify international travel and other critical processes for citizens.
