Deputy National Communications Director for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Malik Basintale, has criticized Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, accusing him of focusing on trivial app launches rather than addressing economic challenges.
In an exclusive interview with Gh One TV, Malik Basintale remarked that Bawumia, who is also the NPP’s flagbearer, frequently makes headlines for what he calls “unnecessary reasons.”
Malik Basintale alleged that Bawumia has been launching apps for taxi, trotro, waakye, and coconut sellers, likening him to a “Google Play Store” focused on irrelevant solutions.
“He’s always launching an unnecessary app when he could launch an app to arrest the dollar,” Basintale stated.
He argued that Bawumia’s initiatives show a lack of understanding of the daily struggles of Ghanaians, noting that the public needs stable jobs and economic relief, not apps.

According to Malik Basintale, what Ghanaians need are jobs to support their families and meet basic expenses, rather than digital platforms.
Dr. Bawumia has launched multiple apps this year, which he claims will benefit Ghanaians and encourage greater civic engagement.
