Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana found himself shouting ‘Eeii’ in utter disbelief after buying Waakye at an outrageously high price in town.
The incident occurred at a local eatery where the Vice President decided to indulge in the popular Ghanaian dish amidst the presence of some media men and the minister of communication.
Upon asking for the bill, VEEP Bawumia was taken aback by the exorbitant amount charged for the meal as he shouts ‘Eeii’.
Witnesses present at the scene were astounded to witness such a reaction from a high-ranking official.
The incident has sparked discussions about the rising cost of food and the affordability of meals for ordinary citizens.
“Let me have some waakye, wele, egg and taalia…”, Bawumia requested from the food vendor and later shouted “Eeii” after he was told the price.
