Popular Waakye Joint in Accra, Aunty Muni Waakye, got the surprise of a lifetime from one of the most powerful men in Ghana right now.
The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamdu Bawumia along with a few close government officials went to one of the most popular food joints in Ghana, Aunty Muni Waakye Joint, to purchase a few packs of Waakye from the vendor.
In an effort to explore the new Universal QR Code Payment System in Ghana, the Vice President took it upon himself to test it in Ghana and Aunty Muni happened to be the lucky vendor.
ABOUT THE UNIVERSAL QR CODE PAYMENT SYSTEM
Ghana’s universal QR Code payment solution (GhQR) allows customers to make Instant payments for goods and services from different funding sources (mobile wallets, cards, bank accounts) by scanning a quick response code on a smartphone. It also allows feature phone users to make payments using a USSD Code provided by their payment service provider.
