A soldier from the 48 Engineer Regiment, Lance Corporal Sapak Dickson, has allegedly committed suicide. The lifeless body of the soldier was found hanging on an electrical cable in the Unit’s guard room. The aforementioned incident happened at roughly 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023.
According to a preliminary report, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the soldier, who was being investigated for several fraud cases, was placed under close custody after a report to the Regiment for defrauding a Defence Civilian Staff.
A team from the Ghana Military Police and CID personnel from Teshie Divisional Police Headquarters were dispatched to the scene for investigations.
The body of the deceased soldier has since been conveyed to the 37 Military Hospital Mortuary.
