
<p class="has-drop-cap">President of Ghana, Nana AKufo-Addo has announced a total shutdown, breaking all schools, both public and private in the country over fears of <a href="https://occupygh.com/category/coronavirus">coronavirus</a> (COVID-19).</p>

<p>The decision was taken after he chaired an inter-ministerial committee meeting on the pandemic on Sunday, March 15.</p>



<p>Ghana has recorded six (6) cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).</p>

<p>President Akufo-Addo announced this in a <a href="https://occupygh.com/watch-live-akufo-addo-addresses-the-nation-on-measures-taken-against-the-spread-of-coronavirus-video">live nationwide broadcast</a>.</p>



<p>All schools including primary schools must close from Monday, March 16.</p>



<p class="has-text-color has-very-dark-gray-color">Akufo-Addo also announced a ban on all social gatherings including church services, funerals, political rallies and parties for the next four weeks<a href="https://occupygh.com/watch-live-akufo-addo-addresses-the-nation-on-measures-taken-against-the-spread-of-coronavirus-video">.</a></p>



<p>These measures come in the wake of the confirmation of six cases of Covid-19 in Ghana.</p>
