In a poignant display of traditional support, the Central Region’s paramount chief invoked the ancestors’ favor on former President John Mahama and running mate Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, assuring them of victory in the impending elections.
The NDC duo’s visit to the Central Regional House of Chiefs preceded the party’s manifesto launch in August. Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, a native of the region, received a warm welcome from her kinsmen, who gathered to offer blessings and support.
Adorned in traditional regalia, the chiefs performed the symbolic pouring of libation, signifying their endorsement and invoking the ancestors’ favor on the NDC candidates.

This significant endorsement is expected to bolster the NDC’s campaign, particularly in the Central Region, where Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s roots run deep.
As the party prepares to unveil its manifesto, this show of support from traditional leaders is poised to energize the party’s base and sway undecided voters, setting the stage for a competitive election season.
