Chairman Wontumi And Some NPP Members Wanted To Jail Me, Kennedy Agyapong Came To My Rescue — A Plus

Kwame A Plus, the newly elected Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, has disclosed that some members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), including Chairman Wontumi, allegedly plotted to jail him.

In an exclusive interview with JoyNews, A Plus recounted the events leading up to his court appearance, saying, “There was a time some members of the NPP wanted to jail me… Chairman Wontumi was part of that plan to put us in jail.”

He revealed that he had prepared his family for the possibility of imprisonment, telling his kids that he might be jailed.

However, A Plus credited Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, a fellow NPP member, with intervening on his behalf. According to A Plus, Agyapong called him from America, saying he would fly back to Ghana to offer support.

Kennedy Agyapong’s timely intervention seemingly helped to defuse the situation according to the controversial politico.

A Plus’s victory in the Gomoa Central constituency was a significant upset, as he unseated the incumbent NPP MP, Nana Eyiah Quansah, with 14,277 votes to Quansah’s 11,637.

@Kwameaplus claims that his decision to hear out the NPP’s proposal to join their caucus was influenced by his relationship with Kennedy Agyapong, who once intervened when Chairman Wontumi and some NPP members allegedly conspired to jail him. #DriveOnJoy #ghanatiktok🇬🇭 #fyp #ghanapolitics
