Chieftancy Dispute In Bawku: Eight Travellers Loses Their Lives, Two Vehicles Burnt On Bolgatanga-Tamale highway Near Gbimsi

Yesterday, a devastating attack on the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway near Gbimsi, close to Walewale, left eight travelers dead and several others shaken.

Gunmen, reportedly linked to the ongoing chieftaincy dispute in Bawku, set up roadblocks and intercepted vehicles. The assailants interrogated passengers to identify potential targets before launching the deadly assault.

Two vehicles were also set ablaze during the attack, which occurred amidst escalating tensions in the region following the return of a new chief.
