Court Sentences Nigerian Actress Funke Akindele To 14 Days Community Service over 'Coronavirus Party'

For flouting President Buhari’s restriction order due to coronavirus, actress Funke Akindele and husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, have been sentenced to 14-day community service by a Magistrate Court in Lagos on Monday, April 6, 2020.

Also, the Court ordered them to pay a fine of N100,000 each as part of their sentence.

Actress Funke Akindele and husband are to serve 3 hours per day excluding Saturdays and Sundays for the next 14 days according to the court.

The Court again ordered them each to visit 10 public places to educate people on the consequences of not abiding by the lockdown directives.

Their arrest was on the back of hosting a house party to celebrate her husband’s birthday.

Musician Naira Marley was also present at the party and has turned himself in to be prosecuted.
