Former Ghanaian international footballer, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, has opened up about his relationship with popular media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, widely known as Delay, dismissing rumors of a romantic connection between them.
In an interview with Sammy Kay, Agyemang Badu clarified that his bond with Delay was purely platonic. He revealed that they became close friends through a mutual acquaintance of Delay. Despite their closeness, he emphasized that there were clear boundaries in their relationship.
Badu recounted that during their friendship, he frequently visited Delay’s home, often enjoying meals there, as his family was not based in Accra at the time.
Addressing the origin of the dating rumors, Badu explained that it stemmed from an incident involving his car. According to him, Delay once drove his vehicle, which had a customized license plate bearing his name.
He recounted that while traveling to the Brong Ahafo Region to visit his family, his car broke down. Stranded, he reached out to Delay for assistance. She promptly arrived, lent him her car, and took his for repairs.
Badu noted that this act of friendship may have fueled speculation about their relationship. However, he reiterated that there was no romantic involvement between them, describing their connection as a strong but respectful friendship.
The footballer’s disclosure seeks to put to rest longstanding rumors surrounding his association with the renowned media figure.
