Samini, a singer of reggae and dancehall music, has explained why he voted for President Nana Addo Dankwa and the NPP in the general elections of 2020.

The’my own’ hitmaker claimed that he backed the ruling party in the elections because he respects President Nana Akufo-Addo’s ideas.

Speaking in an interview with TV3, Samini refuted the claims that he was an NPP member.

“While I don’t have a membership card with the NPP, I support Nana Akufo-Addo’s policies. That is what drew me to his views and the idea that he should stick with his current course rather than be replaced, the man stated.

Samini added that initiatives like “Free SHS,” “One District, One Factory,” and “One Village, One Dam” led him to join the NPP during the most recent elections.
