Election 2024: Mahama leads with 51.9% In Latest Global Info Analytics Poll

The latest survey by Global InfoAnalytics ahead of Ghana’s December 2024 general elections indicates a likely victory for John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to the poll, Mahama enjoys 51.9% support, positioning him as the frontrunner, while the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, trails with 40.5%. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, an independent candidate, holds 2.1%, Nana Kwame Bediako garners 4.7%, and other candidates collectively account for 0.7%.

Regional Breakdown

The poll, conducted between November 11 and 16, highlights regional dynamics that could influence the election outcome. In key swing regions such as Greater Accra, Central, and Western, Mahama leads with 51.1% compared to Bawumia’s 39.5%, while Kyerematen and Bediako hold 2.0% and 7.0%, respectively.

In the Akan regions, traditionally NPP strongholds, Bawumia narrowly leads with 46.6%, while Mahama follows closely with 44.5%. Kyerematen and Bediako register 2.6% and 5.6%, respectively.

Mahama’s dominance is more pronounced in the Northern regions, where he commands 64.7% of the vote against Bawumia’s 33.9%. Similarly, in the Volta and Oti regions, Mahama secures a resounding 72.7%, with Bawumia at 19.7%, Kyerematen at 2.2%, and Bediako at 3.3%.
