In a surprising turn of events, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) communication directorate, led by Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has abandoned its base for briefing the media and the public.
This development comes amidst the ongoing elections in Ghana, which began on December 7.
According to reports by Joy News, the directorate had held three briefings at the base since the start of the elections.
During these briefings, the NPP communication team addressed several key issues, including the alleged interception of 5,000 ballot papers by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kwadaso.
Despite plans to host two more conferences between 9 pm and 2 am, reporters waiting to be briefed by the NPP’s communication team were left unattended as of 2 am.

This unexpected abandonment of the briefing base has raised eyebrows and sparked concerns about the NPP’s communication strategy.
The role of a communication directorate is crucial in maintaining transparency and keeping the public informed, especially during critical periods like elections.
As highlighted in various studies, effective communication is essential in establishing trust and credibility with the public.
In this context, the NPP’s decision to abandon its briefing base raises questions about the party’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
As the elections continue, it remains to be seen how this development will impact the NPP’s communication strategy and its relationship with the media and the public.
