A heated argument broke out between Malik Basintale, a key figure in the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and the Police Director of CID 8, over a gun brought into the Electoral Commission’s (EC) regional office.
The incident occurred despite an initial agreement between Basintale and his bodyguard to return the gun after a second security check.
However, the situation took a turn for the worse when the CID Director confronted Basintale and his bodyguard after the agreement had been reached.
The confrontation escalated into a heated argument, with both sides standing firm on their positions.
This incident comes on the heels of rumors that Basintale is to be arrested for his alleged comments about Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer.
The NDC has come out strongly in support of Basintale, with many party members threatening to mobilize against the police if he is arrested.
