Bishop Salifu Amoako has spoken out in defense of his son, Elrad Salifu Amoako, following the tragic accident that claimed two lives in East Legon on October 12, 2024.
During church services, the bishop emphasized that the accident was unintentional, urging the public not to rush to judgment. In addition, Bishop Amoako issued a public apology to the families of the victims, expressing deep remorse and requesting forgiveness.
The bishop and his wife, Mouha Amoako, were arrested and charged with permitting an unlicensed person to drive, with both granted bail set at GH₵50,000.

Legal proceedings are ongoing as the public continues to react to the tragedy. Social media, particularly X, has been flooded with mixed sentiments, ranging from sympathy for the bishop to outrage over the circumstances that led to the deaths.
The accident occurred when 16-year-old Elrad, driving a Jaguar, collided with another vehicle, resulting in the loss of two young lives.
