Ghanaian Prophet Pledges To Rebuild Akufo-Addo’s Vandalized Statue In Sekondi

Independent parliamentary candidate Prophet Elijah Joshua has pledged to rebuild the statue of former President Nana Akufo-Addo, which was recently vandalized by unknown individuals in Takoradi.

The statue, erected in honor of Akufo-Addo’s leadership and contributions to the Western Region, was defaced in an act that has sparked widespread condemnation.

Prophet Joshua, founder of Glory and Dominion Ministry, claimed to have received a spiritual revelation revealing the potential consequences of the vandalism.

He warned that the defacing could have profound negative effects on the Sekondi/Takoradi area and the larger Western Region.

In a recent interview, Prophet Joshua denounced the vandals’ actions as “disrespectful and divisive.” He urged the government to issue a stern warning against such behavior, cautioning that failure to act could lead to more widespread issues.

Prophet Joshua’s promise to rebuild the statue is not only a show of support for Akufo-Addo’s legacy but also a demonstration of his commitment to preserving national symbols and promoting unity. He warned that anyone who dares to vandalize the new statue would bring curses upon themselves.

The original statue was unveiled by Akufo-Addo himself in November 2024, as part of his “thank you” tour of the Western Region. The statue was meant to commemorate his initiatives in the region, including the rehabilitation of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital, the construction of a three-tier Sinohydro interchange, and the redevelopment of the Takoradi Market Circle.
