Pearl Agbomadzi, a 20-year-old Ghanaian woman, faces murder charges following the death of John Scott Hughes, a 74-year-old British national residing in Ghana.
According to reports, Hughes had arranged to meet Pearl at American House, and together they proceeded to Philipo’s Movie House in East Legon.
After watching an adult movie, they booked Room 7 and engaged in intimate activity. During this encounter, Hughes reportedly lost consciousness and collapsed.
Pearl immediately sought assistance from the hotel staff, who called the police. Hughes was transported to Legon Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The prosecution identifies Pearl as Hughes’ girlfriend, while Hughes’ wife has been listed as the complainant in the case. An investigation into the circumstances of Hughes’ death is ongoing.
