Ghanaians Criticise The President For Making A “Distasteful” Remark About Lowering Volta After The Akosombo Spillage (Video)

The President has received harsh criticism from Ghanaians for his remarks regarding the spill at the Akosombo Dam.

The victims of the Akosombo Dam Spillage who were compelled to abandon their homes had a visit from President Nana Addo.

Nana Addo explained why he was there to some of the locals, saying that the population needed assistance. And if he had decided to assist them based on his supporters, he would have disregarded them.

“If it’s a matter of counting who votes for me and who doesn’t vote for me, I shouldn’t be here, but that’s not my concern,” the candidate said, “because Ghanaians are having difficulties and it’s my responsibility to try and help.” He said as reported.

Obviously, the majority of Ghanaians didn’t like this. They charged him with being a president who was tribalistic and unconcerned with the welfare of his people.
