Madame Melody Millicent Danquah is noted as Ghana’s first female pilot and a Squadron Leader.
On June 22, 1964, Flt. Cadet Melody Millicent Danquah flew solo for the first time in a de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk aircraft.
She become the first Ghanaian, and among the first African women ever to fly an aeroplane solo.
She received her Wings qualifying her as a pilot in 1965.
Flt. Cadet Melody Millicent Danquah reportedly died on March 18, 2016 at the age of 79.
