Govt Used Over ¢2 billion To Close UT Bank, We Were Owing ¢800 Million – Prince Kofi Amoabeng

The founder of now-defunct UT Bank Prince Kofi Amoabeng has finally opened up about how his bank was closed down by the current sitting government.

In a new trending viral video, an excerpt from a conversation he had on a recent podcast, Prince Kofi Amoabeng noted that the current government of Ghana used over ¢2 billion to close his bank when the bank was owing barely ¢800 million.

He also revealed that at that point his bank was employing over 2500 people.

According to Kofi Amoabeng, the government decided to close the brand although it recruited that much people.

“In any civilized institution, you don’t close brands that people have accepted, you bail them out.”
