The High Court in Accra has ruled in favor of the Electoral Commission (EC), dismissing an injunction filed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to halt the declaration of parliamentary results in contested constituencies.
The court ordered the EC to resume collation and finalize results for constituencies including Nsawam Adoagyiri and Ablekuma North, where disruptions occurred during vote counting. This legal decision follows controversies over the integrity of the electoral process in nine constituencies, sparking tensions between political parties.
The ruling emphasized the need for transparency and adherence to constitutional procedures to maintain public trust in the electoral system.

While the EC has welcomed the decision, the NDC has expressed dissatisfaction, citing concerns over unresolved disputes at polling centers. The affected constituencies remain key battlegrounds, with the outcomes likely to influence the balance of power in Parliament.
Observers have called for calm and urged political stakeholders to respect the court’s decision.
The EC has announced that collation will proceed under tight security to ensure a credible process.
