A chilling video has emerged of a zookeeper being fatally attacked and devoured by lions at a private zoo in Parkent, Uzbekistan.
The incident occurred on a fateful night shift, when 44-year-old F. Iriskulov entered the lions’ enclosure, allegedly to impress his girlfriend.
The disturbing footage, which has been circulating online, shows Iriskulov filming himself as he approaches the lions’ cage at 5 a.m.
He is seen opening a padlock on the enclosure, before entering the area where three lions were housed.
Initially, the lions appeared calm, sitting in the far corner of the enclosure. However, as Iriskulov approached them, one of the animals suddenly sprang to life, causing the zookeeper to back off in surprise.
Despite the obvious danger, Iriskulov continued to film himself, repeatedly mentioning one of the lions’ names, “Simba,” and ordering the animal to keep quiet.
He even confidently flipped the camera to reveal his face, apparently intending to send the video to his fiancée as a gesture of bravery.
Tragically, Iriskulov’s confidence proved to be his downfall. As one of the lions approached him, he attempted to stroke the animal, indicating a familiarity with the beast.
However, the lion’s sudden attack caught him off guard, and he was brutally mauled and devoured by the hungry animals.
